You can learn to cope with delayed audio feedback with practice, so it's not as scary as all that, Amber. (So, possibly set up a microphone and some software and start practicing just in case? 
)
It is a Total Jerk Move, though. Basically a point-and-click replacement for getting 2" from someone's face and shouting - you can tune it out, but it's disconcerting as hell.

I've had a good amount of practice with it during phone conversations, but I don't know how well that'll apply to in-person use of this kind of technology.
