Operation Birdwatcher: Winter One Day: January 11th, 2020

WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE:

Ray "Bird of Prey" Faulkner (they/them/theirs)
Is rumored to be highly modified, highly dangerous, and highly committed to terrorizing the Colony of CT 3-999. Likely in the company of those sympathetic to bringing back the atrocities of Archipelago. Approach with extreme caution, engage with extreme prejudice.

Operation Birdwatcher has uncovered intel on the whereabouts of Faulkner’s nest. We know it is in the river basin area Southwest of Coldwater farms. There are scattered settlements and Aleph Complex storage areas between there and the aeronautics base that we will need to search house by house.

Some residents may be sympathetic to Faulkner’s cause, helping hide them and their activities from the Marshal Service and CDF. Some may be entirely ignorant of the threat lurking in their backyards and cellars. This mission requires tact, an ability to interact with civilians, and trigger discipline to only eliminate hostile targets.

In connection with the Colony Prime Marshal Martin Rivers, we are deputizing the citizens of the Colony Prime Expansion to search these structures, dishearten those harboring members of Faulkner’s terrorist organization, arrest Faulkner for capital crimes, and secure the fissile material stolen from the Aleph Complex shielded storage unit.

We expect that the main facility will be tough to crack, with genetically spliced animals guarding the interior, supplemented by whatever scientists were deranged enough to make them. The bulk of the CDF is currently deployed to Lilyport, keeping Radislav’s insurgents at Bodengrad from crossing the river and taking the town.

We need you to fight this menace and bring them to justice. Be prepared for biological warfare, genetically infused monstrosities, and saving the victims of whatever deranged science has been practiced behind those walls.

Good luck, and good hunting.

OOG Stuff:

FI3’s first Winter One Day event will be held on Saturday, January 11th from 12pm to 6pm at the Sturbridge Host Hotel.

As in previous years, we have secured a block of rooms at the same rate as their winter special: $99/night. These will only be held for us until December 21st so book early! You will need to call the hotel directly at 508-347-7393 and say that you are booking under The Mothership Project’s room block to get the rate. Staying overnight is by no means required but it is always a good time.

EDIT: THE ROOM BLOCK IS SOLD OUT! YAY!
There are more rooms available at the same rate (currently, subject to change), please feel free to mention it is in connection with Future Imperfect 3 (what they actually called our bloc), so we stress to them just how many rooms we fill for them. /EDIT

While the actual event is Saturday afternoon, the One Day weekend has become a chance for everyone to socialize, reflect on the past year, and scheme for the spring. We expect the weekend to go something like this:

Friday afternoon/evening: UP opportunity for tote-toting from Ye Olde Commons to the hotel. It’s about a 15 minute drive each way so any and all help is very much appreciated.
Saturday AM: Room setup. Players, please steer clear of the Hawthorne Room!
Saturday 10:45am – 11:30am: Check in at the Hawthorne Room (same room as in previous years; ask if you need directions). Please do not leave anything outside the event space.
Saturday 12pm – 6pm: One Day event in the Hawthorne Room and the adjacent coatroom.
Saturday 6pm: UP opportunity for cleanup.
Saturday 9pm: After Party in the Heritage Tavern featuring the coveted Napkin Awards! This is the same room way at the back of the hotel that we’ve used for the last few years. We’ll hang out late into the night and give out some silly awards for awesomeness.
Sunday 12pm: UP opportunity for tote-toting back to Ye Olde Commons.

What if we are not on Operation Birdwatcher? What if we are on Op: Search and ResQ?

Then you will go on your WDA after the events of the One Day.
