OPERATION VERTIGO CY87:02:11
Posted by: Steph T (IP Logged)
Date: January 26, 2017 12:27PM

MISSION OVERVIEW
On CY87:02:11, the combined forces of Ondrej and Touchstone will commence OPERATION VERTIGO at approximately 1200. Ondrej’s armies will lay siege to the CT-3-504 city of Gibson (see below). Under the cover of this siege, approximately two stars of Touchstone specialist forces will infiltrate a target location and proceed with their mission. The mission objective will effectively cripple Gibson’s defenses, allowing Ondrej forces to take the city with minimal casualties.

This operation will be highly dangerous. Ondrej will be deploying a rotation of field-medtechs to resurrect fallen Touchstone soldiers during the operation. However, the successful conclusion of the mission will disable CT-3-504’s military industrial capabilities, giving allied forces a chance to end the war with a minimum of civilian casualties.

GIBSON
One of 504’s largest cities, Gibson is the heart of the 504 military industrial complex. The city is populated almost entirely by GDF military personnel, with a small number of civilian contractors (estimated at 5% of total population). Both Intelligence and GDF Command are located within the city.

The entire city is laid out in a grid pattern, with a few outlying training and industrial facilities. Several facilities are dedicated to munitions production. One district of the city is reserved exclusively for military use; it is divided into 50 numbered blocks. Your target location is within this district.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Of special note to all engineers and technicians is that we will be unable to deploy an Autoforge into the field with you. We will make an autoforge available to you for a block of time the morning of the mission. Our supply team will coordinate this such that you have the maximum amount of time feasible for building AMPs and devices to support the operation, and asks that all engineers and technicians organize their plans in advance of the day so as to make most efficient use of the time allotted.

Further briefing will be released as the operation draws closer.

------
OOG notes: Yup, to confirm, you won’t have Autoforge access during this mission. We’ll get the AF set up for you to access before game start; probably around 9 or right when we start setup. Please be courteous and share the forge. You will be able to use all your AF skills before the event, and if you want to use your Gathers, Resources from the UP Shop, etc, then you will need to wait until Check-In opens to claim your character packets. If, however, you wish to retain your Engineer and Technician skills for use during the event, there will be opportunities to spend your CP in other ways.

I’ll have other notes for you at pre-game meeting. Reg will open at 10AM (goal), please arrive by 11AM for pre-game meeting, and game will start at noon. If you are one of the special secret squirrels infiltrating Gibson, please be ready for a slightly earlier game-on (about 11:45).

Question will research be ready for the operation? Should we plan to make experiments before the battle?

No, you won't have enough AF time, or enough at-event time, to get your research done. So we're not prepping it. smiling smiley

Have all learned Procedures been processed?

I believe Josh just did them this weekend (THANKS JOSH!!!). I'll check with him to confirm.

I know there are a couple things I owe you guys in order to get your updating in on time. Josh has handled most of them because he's a hero, we had a big meeting this past weekend instead of me slaving away on event processing for 12+ hours like I usually would at this point in the timeframe.

Will catch up on the rest ASAP, thanks all for your patience.

All Taught, Self Study, and Primer Procedures have been added except for the one person/adorable goof who accidentally tried to get both a Taught and Self Study procedure. I gave him the Taught procedure, but if he wants the Self Study instead, he should put in a help request.

Translation:
Wendy: Please poke Zach. He made a little oops, not a big issue,.

In addition, all successful Perk Trials have been resolved, as well as Applied Science.

If any of these things are not showing up in your character area, please put in a Help Request so I can fix it, this was my first time doing it all and it is quite possible I could have goofed on setting something up somewhere.

Hopefully not, but let's just make sure.

I'll let the adorable goof know winking smiley

Update: Zach is fine with keeping the procedure he was taught in game. I'll remind him again tonight that the UP shop is a viable option for the other procedure he tried to self teach.

Will us special people have autoforge access before we officially start? Either way is fine, more curious than anything.

I'm not planning on having any time for food prep. I feel like if we need food for restorals,we should stick to cans of beers, granola bars and cans that Dax and Ricky can make
