My favorite event quote goes to Math Pants. Gera and Hannah have had a running joke all weekend teaching Jodi to flirt with men and find a date to the Gala. But, they come to the realization that maybe its not the ladies of Catalyst that need finishing school, but the men. To investigate this, they ask Math Pants to demonstrate his techniques. After a brief demonstration, he manages to capture his technique in a simple algorithm:

Level 1: Kidnapping
Level 2: Extreme Wooing
Level 3: Full Contact Wooing

I really need to have a notebook handy to write down all of the hysterical exchanges and things that go on over the weekend, because far too many of them occur and slip my mind.

One of my favorite lines was actually after the event, driving home with Jelani. He's telling me how a Friday night plot went for him, the written "plot outcome desired" of which was 'Guilt and Consequences'.

Jelani: I gave better guilt than a mother.
Me: Wow, really sounds like you twisted the knife, there. Good job!
Jelani: Twisted? Hell, no. I had that knife on a dremel, and I just didn't stop!

Love Advice at Good Timez:
Krystal: "Now honey, you just need to make sure you're safe."
Eliza: "Um..."
Donnie: "Yeah, bring a gun."
Krystal: "And you should probably wear combat armor. And a helmet."
Donnie: "Definitely a helmet."
Eliza is unable to get a word in around the laughter.

(Made all the better as Diva walks face-first into a limb of said bush...)

Sam Archer: Hey, Kay- did anyone ever tell you that your hair is really... cute?

Honestly, walking down that hill and trying to keep from grinning at my 'welcome party' was kind of awesome. I have never been so entirely sure that I was about to be hosed. Well done, folks.

Ori, frustratedly looking for a new table, talking to Doc Sophie's dining companion while his charming date is waiting "You stole my table"

Doc S : "Sorry, my fault, I need to be near the med center".

Ori blanches and says nothing, wondering who has replaced Doc S, who a few hours ago immobilized and pained a woman, with a polite diner.

Doc S is perfectly capable of being polite! Just ask Descent...

That was made better by the fact that there was something like, 8 of us down there going "Hey isn't that...yep. It is. Well then, let's go say hi!"


Sunday morning, just before noon. There's a ton of folks outside, and being Catalyst, Danger Game escalated into ridiculousness. First, Dax playing Danger Game with shotguns, and then Altaria.
"DANGER GAME! CHEM 3 DAMAGE!" Which then proceeds to fall, hit her in the leg, and she keels over.

Eliza: Haaaaaave you met my friend Todd?
Neely: You are the worst sort of person.
Eliza: I know. Haaaaaave you met my friend Todd?

Not really a quote....but I cannot believe the escalation at three man! Not only did Liam punch out Hannah and knock her off a bench, but Jodi eagerly ran over and finished the job! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching the fall out with Ali, Gregori and Stark...poor Melanie was in tears!

I totally deserved it all and more...I had a blast, and I will be putting a few quotes up here after I am done with my PEL. I feel the pressure to get it down before I forget it all!

Altaria, Sam, Tabur, and Levi are standing outside the Commissary, having been asked by Ali to, er, detain Cape Ninja for questioning. We realize that Cape Ninja probably won't leave with any of us, until Levi remembers that she has a history of Prescepari problem and walks inside.

Levi: Cape Ninja, I need to talk to you outside. I've been having a hard time with... the voices. I need help.

At this point, the two exit outside. Billy Rye hears all this and walks over to Claiomh, sad & concerned that Levi would ask Cape Ninja for help before she'd ask Billy Rye.

Outside, Levi starts to talk and talk and talk, trying hard not to look at the others.

Levi: I'm just so... anxious. I don't know what to do. [Notices the others trying to circle Cape Ninja]

Cape Ninja: Oh, meditation!

Levi: Tell me more about meditation! [Thinking, yesssssss close your eyes, yessssssss].

Meanwhile, back inside.

Billy Rye: Claiomh, I just don't understand why Levi wouldn't come to me about this...

Just then, outside, gunshots. I hope that answered Billy's question!

Between this & Kay, Levi was feeling pretty confident of her ability to be awesome. And then, after not following her own advice, she died alone in her cabin.

Diva: "That is the worst story ever. The only way to lessen my mental pain is to find Lifeblind and share it with him immediately."

Down at the fire, shortly after Reuben asks Papa Glen (Or to him "Maculum") permission to date his daughter.

Grinner: "Oh man! You should totally hear the story about how they met!"
(Queue immediate thoughts of "Sonuvabitch... do I lie to him, or tell him the truth?")
Papa Glen: "Go on..."
Matthes: "Well sir, I was participating in a fight club, and Her and I got paired off for a matc-"
Glen interrupts: "A fight club? Did you lay your hands on my daughter?"
(Long Silence... As I try to find a good way to word what will inevitably follow)
Matthes: "Yes Sir... she kicked the crap out of me!"
Glen: "SUBDUE!"

I will admit I had my Hardiness left at that point and could have resisted the subdue. But Matthes fully acknowledged he needed to take this one.

Gale "Raise"
Shlea "No, you have to bet nicely?"
Gale "What?"
Shlea "You need to be nice, so we can all play."

Gale, the rest of the night, just calling "This is for the ladies"

And get some of us ladies still lost a lot of resources that game!

I got reminded of this one this morning:

During 3Man, Gregori starts this whole "sales-pitch" for Calvin. It's something along the lines of "Five-foot, eleven inches! 175 lbs! He's single and enjoys long walks on the beach!"

and there I am, going "oh, for the love of Mother, WHY."

Less of a quote than an utterly ridiculous scene:

After midnight Saturday night, Dr. Q is scurrying around the Commissary, frantically asking people for chocolate. Konrad and I snicker and decide to mess with him. Famous almost last words...
Ali: "What do you need chocolate for? Her Lady Maintenance?" *Snickering*
Dr. Q: *Muppet flailing* "This is important! She gave me THESE!" *Proudly displays his new surgical tools* "I must repay her thoughtfulness; you have to help me!"
Ali: "Umm, I have chocolate...in my cabin."
Dr. Q: "You must get it for me!" *forks out some resources*
Ali: "Oh you've got to be kidding...fine, but if I die, it's your fault and I will not be happy about it."
Dr. Q: "That's why I'm going to help you stay alive, because this is a matter of life and death." *puts at least 2 enhancements on me, one of which is a 5 minute screen* "Now go!"
I then bolt out of the Commissary, completely unaware of whether it was safe to do so and sprint to the cabin. I run in, asking anyone in there not to shoot me, grab the chocolate, and run back up to the Commissary with little explanation.
Ali: "I can't believe I just did that." *hands the chocolate to Dr. Q who gushes gratitude before running off*
Konrad: *obviously amused* "I can't either!"

At Three-Man (WHOOOOO)

Lifeblind: This audience is boring!
*"someone" shoots Lifeblind*
*Lifeblind falls over*
*Ball hits Lifeblind in butt*

Ridden, after seeing Eliza in the dress jumps Gera as she is dashing across outside (in just her bloomers and robe..) to get to the commisary to change, and gives her a massive bear hug.

Ridden: "THANK YOU" *while nearly swinging her around*
Gera: "While I appricate the welcome dear you mind putting me down I am in nothing but my knickers!"
Person I cannot recall who because it was so dark out: "Uhh..awkward."
