Winter 2013 Event: Unto The Eagle's Nest

Greetings,

Future Imperfect is proud to present their upcoming Winter one-day event:

FUTURE IMPERFECT
UNTO THE EAGLE'S NEST

Saturday, January 5, 2012
Sturbridge Host Hotel, Sturbridge, MA
Hawthorne Hall
www.sturbridgehosthotel.com

For years, Alfred Stauer has plagued your community with his repeated Tampered attacks. He has betrayed your trust twice, has been responsible for the death of hundreds of people and has ended he lives of many people you hold dear.

No more.

You have spent the last two months searching the tunnels of Aleph Complex, living without adequate food, water and sunlight. At last, you have found his inner sanctum, the center of his power base. Now all you have to do is crack his security and break in.

What horrors has he yet to unleash on you all? Are the radiation signs a deterrent, or are you really at risk? Why is there an ominous clock in the corner, counting down the minutes? None of this matters. All that matters is ending him, once and for all.

We are very excited to have you join us for our upcoming event. Here are a few things we wish to inform you about beforehand:

SCHEDULE
Our schedule for this event is as follows:

11:00 AM - Check-in is open. Come get your character sheet and event notes.
12:00 PM - New Player Meeting. Come talk about FI and get some pointers about the game.
12:30 PM - Opening Meeting. We have a lot to cover, to please show up on time.
1:00 PM - Game on! We hope you have fun!
6:00 PM - Game off! Please stay and help us with clean-up!

6:30 PM - Be our guest at the Sturbridge Host Hotel. Bring your swimming suit and enjoy the pool. Come to the bar and hang out with your friends. Unlike previous years, we will not be having a group dinner outing, as we've gotten too large to accommodate our group.
10:15 PM - Come join us at the Sturbridge Host bar and lounge for this year's Game Awards. Part roast, part homage, come cheer our fellow players and cast as we point out their shining (and not so shining) moments. Afterwards, have fun as we sing karaoke and hang out!

FOOD AND DRINK
As per hotel policy, please do not bring any food or drink into the event. We are okay with small snacks, but avoid any large food orders or group meals. Sorry, this is the hotel's doing, not ours.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS
It is not too late to book a room at the Sturbridge Host. Look for their Winter Warmer deal, with prices starting at 84.00 a night!

NEW PLAYERS/DIDN'T MAKE IT INTO THE ELEVATOR

If you are a new player, weren't at the last event or don't know what the above statement means, please inform us as soon as possible via HELP request. We want to make sure to include you in something special we have planned for the event.

SPECIAL RULES

* Gamma and Delta Radiation
Some game areas are flooded with Gamma and Delta radiation. Although tolerable in small doses, prolonged exposure can result in sudden and painful death.

Once you enter an area which is flooded in Delta or Gamma radiation, you have thirty minutes before you suffer the Death effect, followed immediately by the Tamper Death Sequence effect. Once you are out of such an area, you must remain unexposed for two hours before you can re-enter again. If you enter before your two hours of recovery time, you suffer the aforementioned effects after three minutes of exposure.

Gamma and Delta Radiation are mutually exclusive. In other words, being saturated by one has no effect on the other. Each radiation type has its own recovery cooldown. Having just gone into a Gamma zone means you can still go into a Delta zone with no penalty, and viceversa. Trust us, this will all make sense once you're at the event.

Spirit of the Rule: Part of the event will require going on modules, as you slowly break down security layers. We want to give everyone a chance to go on these encounters, rather than have one or two "power squads" take over the event. This cooldown mechanic exists to allow as many people as possible to help out. Be a good sport; let everyone have a turn and join in on the fun.

We expect everyone to be able to go one 2-3 of these missions. You are not obligated to go on them, but much of the action will center around them. This mechanic does not exist to slow you down, only to give everyone a chance to have a go. If you are scraping the bottom of the barrel and can't find people for missions, either because people don't want to go or everyone is on cooldown, cast will be available to work things out.

We hope to see you at the event!

It's Christmas at ground zero
There's music in the air
The sleigh bells are ringing and the carolers are singing
While the air raid sirens blare

It's Christmas at ground zero
The button has been pressed
The radio just let us know
That this is not a test

Everywhere the atom bombs are dropping
It's the end of all humanity
No more time for last-minute shopping
It's time to face your final destiny

It's Christmas at ground zero
There's panic in the crowd
We can dodge debris while we trim the tree
Underneath the mushroom cloud

Ronald Reagan:
Well, the big day is only a few hours away now.
I'm sure you're all looking forward to it
as much as we are.

You might hear some reindeer on your rooftop
Or Jack Frost on your windowsill
But if someone's climbing down your chimney
You better load your gun and shoot to kill

It's Christmas at ground zero
And if the radiation level's okay
I'll go out with you and see all the new
Mutations on New Year's Day

It's Christmas at ground zero
Just seconds left to go
I'll duck and cover with my Yuletide lover
Underneath the mistletoe

It's Christmas at ground zero
Now the missiles are on their way
What a crazy fluke, we're gonna get nuked
On this jolly holiday

What a crazy fluke, we're gonna get nuked
On this jolly holiday!

Dashing through our foes,
with blade and gun in hand
the science we will throw
slaying all we can!

the clash of steel does ring
with gunshots flaring bright
oh what fun it is to sing,
this slaying song tonight!

the road to hell,
the road to hell,
we'll drag him all the way
things look dour,
we'll nutshot Stauer
don't let him get away
HEY!

Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
‘Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns’ he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

‘Forward, the Light Brigade!’
Was there a man dismay’d ?
Not tho’ the soldier knew
Some one had blunder’d:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley’d & thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash’d all their sabres bare,
Flash’d as they turn’d in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder’d:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro’ the line they broke;
Cossack & Russian
Reel’d from the sabre-stroke,
Shatter’d & sunder’d.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley’d and thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
While horse & hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro’ the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder’d.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!
