Post Event Letters

So, this is the polite request for PELs that customarily follows each event.

Your post-event letter is how we know what you liked, what you hated, and what you'd like to see in the future. You even get points for completing one in the system!

Also, Steph and I will eat many small cute creatures if we are not sated by PELs.

Now you know.

And it's on your conscience.

Steph, bring out the cute animal pictures. Especially the fluffy puppies.

Cordially,

-Amber

Dang, do I sure have a lot of puppies marinating in case people don't write their PELs!

Don't they look DELICIOUS? Nom nom nom...

But but but I wrote my PEL...I just can't submit it yet. There's all sorts of research and device blueprints and teaching in Jane's PEL....but Sophia is still in the system. Seeing as Sophia's skills are totally different, and my account is going to be wiped, you shall have to wait for my PEL and not eat any of the scary puppies.

Wiping your character will not wipe your PEL!

What about research and such? Sophia knows the procedure Jane was taught and I do not have Jane's skills (such as engineer, pure engineer) in the system for device blueprints and such to go through.

I figured it would be easier to wait until Sophia was wiped so their would be no confusion, but if you guys need me to feed the PEL monster, I can submit it.

The research guys aren't going to get to that stuff for weeks. FEED US NOW

Well, there goes my goal of getting my PEL in before this thread went up. New goal... PEL submitted before the very last hours of the last day.

*Grin*

We had been sated by the trickle of PELs arriving on the site for the past few days, but this morning the trickle dried up. Typically by this point after the event, its a wasteland until we reach the oasis of the final hours before they are due.

While we like to joke about this stuff, we do in fact understand life happens, and writing PELs isn't typically the first priority after an event (usually, for me, its sleep and managing to figure out how on earth I am going to finish a full week of work...). But this thread has become almost requisite...

We work not for dollars, or for glory or fame, but for feedback. So I guess its understandable that the majority of our senior cast members and plot writers await PELs with a desperation approaching that of a drug addict.

And that right there is a damned tragedy. But seriously, my PEL is one of the first things on my mind in the week after the event, so I write about half of it really studiously, and then other stuff gets in the way and I have to rush to fill in gaps before the deadline. Let's see if I can't do better this time.

So many birthdays and people to cover for/train at work... I SUPPOSE if James and I don't get to Faire this weekend I could write my PEL then...

How long are these things SUPPOSED to be? Am I long winded, or is everyone?

I bet your PEL is not nearly as long as mine are when I am a PC at games.

Last ToV count: 11 pages (per googledocs). I have to do a bulleted list so people can skim over things. And intelligent paragraph breaks.

I suspect you read mine (about when you posted your beefy quote) so you have some idea of mine.... of course my unfinished character history is 92 pages in googledoc, so I may have some issues

Yeah, I am kinda ridic about writing IG things as well. And yes, I was amused to recall that conversation!

I think it's a sign that FI is a great game: our character(s) are so deep and detailed, carefully thought-out, that they're sort of... individuals. Entities with their own goals and insights that are different from the player or cast member's.

I love when I'm deep enough into some RP that I find myself -thinking- as that character. (Only slightly terrifying when this is a bartender with ten pounds of hair and another five of makeup.)

Amber, if it makes you feel any better, my last PEL was written while in rush hour traffic on my cell phone while headed to MJ. but not this time, soon PEL monster SOON.....

To those intimidated by descriptions of length:
Most importantly, let us know what you enjoyed and what you'd like to see again.
Let us know what we can improve to make your experience even better.
Let us know what you would like to be doing going forward so we can accommodate/account for that as we plan plots.

Oh, and don't forget your research - even if you have no science, you can look into a Perk for something you do a lot of and want your character to excell at, we've come up with a variety of fun & unique things for people.

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Edit: Manually corrected autocorrects. Stupid autocorrect...

My PEL is contingent on one of my help requests, I can't really post it until I know my research results.

Submitted a whole hour earlier than normal. Negligible progress on that front. However, this PEL was pages and pages longer than my previous ones, and my first time submitting a research project, so I forgive myself.
